Create positive contributions, promote well-being and engagement to the communities in which we operate through basic services
At B.Grimm Power, we hold a profound sense of responsibility towards preventing and controlling any potential impact from our operations on the communities and environment in which we operate. We take pride in being a contributor to promoting robust and sustainable growth within these communities. Therefore, we are fully committed to engaging in projects that generate a positive impact on society, the environment, and the community around each power plant. Our focus is on projects that align with the unique context of each operating area, such as the B.Grimm Boworn Project (Village, Temple, and School), the Sustainable Cultivation Centre at Xenamnoy and Xekatam in Lao People's Democratic Republic, the community water supply construction project for the people of Ban Nam Tuad in Muang Pak Chong, Champasak Province. The details of these outstanding projects are as follows:
B.Grimm Boworn (Village, Temple, School)

B.Grimm Boworn (Village, Temple, School) project initiated in 2020 to drive a significant effort towards driving the development of the community and society, promoting real potential and sustainability. The project aims to elevate the community in all aspects of the economy, society, environment, and people, while aligning them with the Royal Initiatives of "House, Temple, School" and the Sufficiency Economy of H.M. the late King Rama IX. The goal is to instill the community’s love for its homeland, enabling a strong community with income, happiness, and balance in life.
In 2022, B.Grimm Power, in collaboration with the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation, introduced the Partnership School Project, which utilises schools as the central hub for community development. This long-term initiative focuses on 9 key activities, including community participation, capacity building for teachers and students, as well as community members, poverty reduction through agricultural projects, establishment of savings and microloan funds, provision of educational tools and learning materials, food security and income generation for the elderly, health and environmental initiatives, continuous project monitoring, and impact assessment.

Furthermore, a pilot project, “Agricultural Plots for Poverty Reduction”, was established on B.Grimm School premises, bringing together teachers, students, village heads, temple abbots, and local residents to cultivate melon and grape farms, with solar-powered irrigation systems installed in the greenhouses. The initiative also includes vocational skills training, such as operating rice milling machines, vacuum-sealing agricultural products, vegetable garden management, and producing organic pest control solutions from local materials. This project aims to enhance quality of life, generate income for schools and communities, and establish the province’s first agricultural learning centre for melon and grape farming in Sa Kaeo Province, serving as a knowledge-sharing hub for other institutions. Additionally, B.Grimm Power and the Partnership School Project introduced savings and microloan funds to support livelihood development for parents and community members, providing low-interest funding for investment and financial literacy training. The Student Business Fund was also established to equip students with entrepreneurial skills and income-generating opportunities while pursuing their education.
In 2024, the project continues to advance agricultural initiatives to enhance vocational skills and improve community livelihoods through collaborative efforts with multiple stakeholders. Key developments include:
- Melon farming – Upgraded greenhouse structures and irrigation systems; expanded capacity to produce 8 crop cycles per year, yielding 100–250 melons per cycle per greenhouse.
- Vegetable cultivation around reservoirs – Supported the growing of marketable crops, such as aubergines, morning glory, and oyster mushrooms, using varied planting techniques.
- Water system improvements – Installed water pumps and storage tanks to ensure sufficient agricultural water supply.
- Clean energy integration – Installed a 5 kW solar power system to support irrigation operations, reducing energy costs and promoting sustainable energy use.
Through these efforts, B.Grimm School is evolving beyond a traditional educational institution—becoming a centre for agricultural and vocational learning that empowers the community, fosters economic opportunities, and lays the foundation for sustainable development

Saengtham Thuathai Project (Solar Rooftop for temples and schools)
At B.Grimm Power, our long-standing expertise in electricity production and sustainable energy solutions is intrinsically intertwined with a profound sense of compassion, reflecting our unwavering commitment to "Empower the world compassionately". This core philosophy is powerfully exemplified by our "Saengtham Thuathai Project”, which fosters social and spiritual well-being within the communities we serve.
Launched as a profound tribute to His Majesty the King on the occasion of his auspicious 6th Cycle (72nd) Birthday, this project addresses the critical challenge faced by many temples—and adjacent community facilities identified during our comprehensive site engagements, such as schools and rural health centres—regarding escalating electricity costs and, for some, the complete lack of power access. Our aim is to provide sustainable, clean energy solutions to these vital community hubs, which directly contributes to community engagement to promote access to clean energy or water, ensuring that new technologies are accessible and affordable. Through this significant infrastructure investment to improve access or reliability in solar power systems, we oversee the entire process from comprehensive site assessment and expert installation to long-term maintenance, ensuring lasting benefits. The project not only delivers tangible support to beneficiaries, empowering them with reduced operational costs and essential power access, but also actively engages university students, providing them invaluable practical experience and fostering a new generation committed to social responsibility through education and outreach programs related to clean energy. Furthermore, this initiative serves as an Energy-water nexus project, with several installations enabling the clean energy to power essential village water pumps, thereby optimising energy and water usage for enhanced environmental and social benefit within these communities.
In 2024, our dedicated efforts resulted in the successful installation of solar rooftop systems totaling 80 kWp across 10 sites in 7 provinces, including temples, schools, and rural health centres. Each system, ranging from 5 kWp to 10 kWp, contributes to significant monthly energy cost savings of approximately THB 2,500–6,000 per site, culminating in an estimated total annual saving of THB 612,000 for these beneficiaries.
Creating a Positive Impact on Public Health and Community Well-being

B.Grimm Power is dedicated to creating a positive social and community impact, particularly in public health and health promotion. One of this year’s key initiatives is "B.Grimm Health Canvas Bag 2024", which aims to support the operations of Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospitals (SHPH) and local medical service units. The project provides health canvas bags for storing medications and medical supplies for chronic patients, ensuring convenient and continuous access to essential treatments. Additionally, a blood sugar reduction calendar has been developed to encourage patients to adopt healthier eating habits, reduce complications, and prevent progression to critical conditions (red zone patients). This initiative ultimately helps ease the burden on healthcare professionals, whose availability remains limited compared to the growing demand for medical services in local communities.
Furthermore, the project supports health officers in providing nutritional guidance to local residents, promoting better quality of life, disease prevention, and long-term healthcare burden reduction. This is especially crucial for chronic patients requiring regular treatments and medication, given the increasing number of cases influenced by current economic and social factors.

Sustainable Cultivation Centre at Xenamnoi and Xekatam Hydro Power Plant in Lao

B.Grimm Power recognises food safety as a fundamental issue affecting global populations. In response, we established the Xenamnoi and Xekatam Sustainable Agriculture Learning Centres near our hydropower plants in Pakxong, Champasak Province, Laos. These centres aim to improve the quality of life for local communities by promoting organic agriculture. Key activities under this initiative include natural water source conservation, education on preventing forest burning, and soil restoration to maintain essential nutrients for farming. The project also supports organic farming and home vegetable gardening, provides training on composting techniques to reduce chemical fertiliser use, and introduces solar pump technology as a sustainable energy alternative to reduce farmers’ electricity costs. Additionally, the initiative raises awareness of soil, water, and forest conservation, empowering local communities with knowledge for long-term self-sufficiency and sustainable development.
In 2024, the Sustainable Agriculture Learning Centres expanded their collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry at Champasak University to further advance community development and sustainable livelihoods. A key focus this year is the Coffee Yield Enhancement Project, which applies pest management technology and organic fertilisation techniques to help farmers increase productivity and secure stable incomes. Furthermore, a model vegetable garden was established at Upacha Primary School in Pakxong District, allowing students to develop agricultural skills, access fresh and nutritious vegetables, and cultivate an awareness of sustainable farming practices in an interactive learning environment. To support local food security, B.Grimm Power and Champasak University experts also conducted a hands-on workshop on low-cost animal feed production for communities from Namtoud, Nongtuang, and Upacha villages. This initiative aims to reduce production costs and enhance food security for small-scale farmers. These efforts reflect B.Grimm Power’s commitment to fostering sustainable change by integrating academic expertise with community-driven initiatives, ensuring effective and long-lasting development in the region.
