Expertise in Information Technology, Security, and Cybersecurity

• Dr. Koanantakool was among the earliest advocate of cybersecurity in Thailand. In 2000, he set up ThaiCERT, the National Computer Incident Response Team under NECTEC. The unit handled hands-on incident response, close collaboration with early adopters of the Internet, and the establishment of international relationships with organizations like the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) and the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST). ThaiCERT was formally institutionalized under the Cybersecurity Act in 2019. He was also the first chairman of Information Security Subcommittee of the country’s Electronic Transactions Committee since 2010. During 2018-2020, he was leading NSTDA’s team in developing AI development/usage guidelines and drafting Responsible and Ethical AI for R&D projects funded NSTDA.
