We are a strong supporter of the dual vocational education system, which originated in Germany and has proven to be crucially important for the economic competitiveness of a country because it produces highly specialised workers. We select vocational students from nearby technical colleges and provide extensive on-the-job training while our students still pursue their formal education.
We contribute to enhanced science teaching as a key sponsor of the Little Scientists’ House project, which was gracefully initiated by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The project seeks to spur the scientific curiosity of kindergarten kids by engaging them in hands-on science experiments.
We also take children from schools in our communities to visit the Nanmeebooks Hands-on Science Centre, an educational facility with 25 different learning stations. We even contributed one of the learning stations: the “B.Grimm Power City”, a model that shows where electricity comes from and how it supports all life in a city.
Over 100 schools nearby our power plants have already joined our network. We organise trainings for the school teachers on learning methods and experiments provided by the Little Scientists’ House and follow up with every school to ensure that the quality of science teaching is upheld. Our employees act as volunteers to take care of schools and support the teachers.
We are also one of the founding company partners of the German-Thai Dual Excellence Education (GTDEE) program, which was launched in 2013 by the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce (GTCC) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in order to promote dual vocation across Thailand and ensure its premium quality.
Our dual vocation program is further strengthened through a cooperation with Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) in the fields of Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. We hope to bring up future staff members from among our vocational students and also to contribute to a coming generation of independent craftsman-entrepreneurs in Thailand.
